Life Catch Up!

I have been a really bad blogger lately but I do have an excuse! I have been so busy with end of the school year stuff including....
  • Report Cards
  • Assessments
  • Individualized Education Plan Meetings
  • Planning and putting on an end of the year program for parents
  • Cleaning and organizing EVERYTHING in my classroom
  • Doing inventory in my classroom
BORING, I know.

But, I have completed my first year of teaching successfully.  And sometime next week, I am going back to school to sign my contract for next year.

I have also decided that I am going to get my Masters of Science in Instruction and Curriculum.  I am getting it from the University of Tennessee at Martin that has this wonderful program for teachers who are working full time.  So I have to STUDY FOR MY GRE! DUH, DUH, DUHHHH.  I am really scared about taking it. Seriously.

With all of this not so fun stuff, I have also been busy doing fun stuff!  I was so lucky to get to go to the Miranda Lambert concert in Nashville a couple of weekends ago.  It was the best concert I have ever been to.  I love Miranda and everything she stands for.  She was amazing live.  And the best part- her super hot husband, Blake Shelton, came out and they sang Honey Bee together.

Love her!

I also had an awesome Memorial Day weekend.  All of my friends and sorority sisters were able to meet up at Norris Lake at my friend Brandi's lake house. There was some amazing food, lots of drinks, and tons of time on the lake. They also surprised me and Chelsea with some belated birthday cupcakes that were DELICIOUS! I love my friends and I am so thankful we were all able to get together.

Karaoke super stars.
Why are we so pretty?

I hope this has caught you up a little on my crazy life! Now school is out and I am back to the blogging world!  Happy summer, y'all!

Weekend Catch Up

It is about time I catch yall up with what has been going on with me!  It has been a very busy past couple of days.  Good, but busy.

Well, I had 3 cousins graduate college and we all came back to my grandmother's house to celebrate!  What a party that was!  I am thinking there were about 20 people in our house on Saturday.  The more the merrier!

Here is a picture of all of my cousins (we are missing my little sister who wasn't able to make it).

Me, Jeremy, Mary, Kristen, Tanya, and Josh
Later that night, we all went out to a local bar.  My cousins, aunts, and uncles.  That was a first for me (a bar with my family) but we had a blast!  When I hear this song, I will forever think of that night...

I can't believe I graduated a year ago! And now I am almost done with my first year of teaching...if only I can survive this last week.  I'm not sure I can.

Speak Now by Taylor Swift

I must say, I am a sucker for Tay Swift's new album Speak Now.  Below is a song off the album that I'm sort of obsessed with at the moment.  Dear John is directed towards John Mayer.  As we all know, they had some sort of relationship/fling....Yep, she was 19 and he was what? In his 30's.  If I were to write Taylor a song I would name it Dear Taylor.  And it basically would say date someone your own age.  Stop scooping up men who seem to be having a mid-life crisis (ahem Jake Gyllenhaal).
Anyways, I really do like her new album.  It is more mature than her other albums...There is no telling your friends your gay and burning pictures in this one.  I guess that is why I like it so much more than the other ones.
This album has that song that she wrote for Kanye West after he stole her spotlight at the video music awards.  There are a lot of underhanded cuts at Kanye in this song.  You would not catch them if you did not know the whole story.  But I like this song too.
Good job on the album Tay Tay.  Lets just remember to date boys our own age.
